NOTES TO CATEGORY MANAGERS WHEN RESEARCHING THIS CASE

This appears to be a -48A case. LW13838. IO540-KiA5, K1E5…all K1’s except Dual mag apps.

CASTING NUMBER: 13828 13827

IO-540, wide deck, big main bearing, with oil score fitting.

LW-13838 seems to be superseded by LW-16762

Can these cases also be used to build the same engine as the LW-13838?

11F20020S1 / LW-13838 / LW-18337 / LW-16762-S / 11F24020-S1-S

maybe more....

The Part number on these cases is deceiving in that they represent a Phase (I, II, III, IV and so on) Same with TCM. You can reference the latest supersedure BUT make it clear it is a phase II.

The rules governing the 141 and 135 operations would require the latest versions to be installed. Phase IV, V and so on.

In my opinion ….measure twice and cut once. Ask the use (Part 91, 135, 141)? Always remember….most of these people have NO clue what they are looking for

*** CORE CHARGE $4,000

***************

*** CRANKCASE - Full Description Add-on - Place in body of Full Description on GENERAL tab***

AirParts Rotable Crankcases are sold as an Exchange Only sales transaction. This means that you will purchase the crankcase and send us back your core crankcase. You will use the packaging that we provide to ship back your core. You will not be charged the core charge until after 15 days if you do not return your core to us. Once the core is returned, it will be inspected by a third-party crankcase 145 repair station to determine whether it is acceptable. In the unlikely event that your core fails inspection or is out of spec, you will be responsible for paying the core charge. If the core does not fail but requires additional processing outside of normal overhaul, you will be charged for those additional small charges. This is standard in the aviation industry when purchasing core exchange items. If the core is in good shape, purchasing core exchange from AirParts provides you with the crankcase you need right away without any wait. It also lowers the price of acquiring the rotable parts you need to get your job done quickly leading to a happy client!
