The TR760-03 valve assembly creates a seal by compressing a soft rubber grommet against the curved inner surface of the wheel rim. The threaded body of the valve passes through a hole in the wheel. A metal washer and lock nut on the outside are tightened to a specified torque. This action clamps the wheel rim between the inner rubber grommet and the outer metal washer, creating a durable, airtight seal that is independent of the tire's inflation pressure.
