Plane-Power® alternators are FAA PMA certified to replace the vast majority of popular general aviation alternators. Plane-Power also manufactures an alternator kit for experimental aircraft applications that comes complete with required brackets, spacers, internal cooling, voltage regulation (choice of internal or external), and over-voltage protection. Plane-Power alternators are warrantied for 2-years against component failures.
AL Series
The original Plane-Power® alternators, these are modern, lightweight replacements for OEM alternators.
While not direct fit replacements, they come with mounting hardware needed to make the switch.

*Aircraft electrical system will be limited by existing wiring and output breaker not to exceed 60 amps. The Plane-Power alternator can produce all 70 amps if proper size wiring and circuit breaker is installed and approved. **Also, Teledyne Continental alternator installations used a wide variety of V-belts. Plane-Power recommends the use of TCM P/N 539547-32.00 for most installations of AL12-F60 alternators on TCM engines. |
Core Return Policy
All units returned for core or warranty core credit must be complete, as removed from the engine, and not disassembled. Core or warranty core credit is not available for automotive units. Units that are rusty, non-repairable, or have been welded, disassembled, and reassembled with old parts will be classified as scrap with no value. Additionally, a percentage of the core value will be deducted for any missing or damaged parts. However, the total charge for missing or damaged parts will never exceed the core value of the unit.
- Core returns will only be accepted for credit within 3 months from the invoice date.
- Cores returned in quantities exceeding the invoiced amount will not be accepted. We may offer you a purchase of your returned cores if they pass inspection.
- Returned cores must match the purchased unit, be a directly superseded unit, or a replaced unit when installing an STC’d product.
- Competitive product cores are eligible for return.
- Cores must include a legible data tag for part and serial number verification.
Note: Customers must provide a core for overhaul if our supplier does not have available cores for the overhaul process.
