The Tempest UREM38E's design directly addresses the primary failure modes of aviation spark plugs. The proprietary glass seal is applied using a "hot-lock" assembly process, which creates a bond that is highly resistant to leakage even under extreme pressures of 3,000 to 5,000 PSI. This prevents hot combustion gases from leaking past the insulator, which would otherwise erode the internal components and cause the plug to fail. The solid copper core, extending from the terminal well to deep inside the center electrode, provides a highly efficient path for thermal energy to travel away from the firing tip, keeping the plug within its designed heat range and preventing dangerous pre-ignition events.

Note: This is a flight-critical engine component. Installation must be performed by a certified A&P mechanic. The spark plug electrode gap must be properly set using a feeler gauge, and the plug must be installed with a new copper gasket and torqued to the value specified in the engine maintenance manual.
