Why Choose Tempest Oil Filters?
Tempest oil filters are renowned in the aviation industry for their high-quality construction and reliable performance. The AA48109 oil filter provides exceptional protection for your aircraft engine by removing harmful contaminants from the oil. This ensures the engine runs smoothly and efficiently, reducing the risk of wear and extending the life of engine components. Using Tempest oil filters guarantees that your aircraft is equipped with the best in filtration technology, maintaining engine health and safety.
Tempest’s SPIN EZ filters are designed to come off easy. Heat, time and pressure can extrude oil, grease, DC4® compound or similar liquid lubricants from between a filter’s rubber seal and the filter mount pad - leaving the filter seemingly “bonded” to the engine’s mount pad - and making it nearly impossible to remove. Tempest’s proprietary SPIN EZ adhered solid seal lubricant stays where it’s supposed to - between the seal and the mount pad’s surface. SPIN EZ solid lubricant won’t extrude or squirt out from under the seal. It prevents the bond forming environment that makes legacy filters stick.
Avoid frustration. Save time and money. No more messy DC-4 compound. No more stabbed cans. No more busted knuckles. No more bad words. At your next filter change, UPGRADE to state-of-the-art Tempest SPIN EZ oil filters - the filter that comes off without a fight!
The only thing stuck now is our competition
AA48109 EZ SPIN FEATURES
Magnetic Filtration System – The Tempest Original filter has more media area (311square inches) than any other aviation oil filter. An internal magnet, designed to attract fine steel particles to small to be caught by the filter media that can be harmful to the engine, effectively increases the filtration performance of the filter.
Improved Nut Welds – Nut welds are so strong that the can will distort without breaking the welds! During production testing nuts are actually ripped away from the can – the base metal must fail, the welds must not (see photo). Using Tempest Original filters means no more frustration with installation nuts falling off.
Meets TCM bypass Specification of 12-14psi, reducing risk of premature bypass that can result in unfiltered oil flowing to your engine.
Burst strength of 600 psi – Significant improvements to the roll seam process used on the bottom of the can substantially improved the design burst strength of the Tempest Original oil filter to over 600 pounds per square inch, exceeding the ARP 1400 standard by 50 percent. Extra strength gives added assurance that Tempest oil filters are made to withstand the harshest operating conditions.
Non-Stick Gaskets – Tempest Original oil filters incorporate especially lubricated synthetic rubber base gaskets made from a proprietary compound. This helps insure proper torque during installation and easy removal.
